Wishes Needed for Hannah!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am putting together a 100 good wishes quilt scrapbook. I have the quilt and I have the bits of fabric on paper. I just need to add wishes to each paper.

We would REALLY appreciate wishes from you! If you could email me your wish to wishes@kjvb.com , I will then print your wishes and add it to the fabric page in the scrapbook. Keep in mind, the wish can be anything you would like to say to Hannah. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!! Please help us with our project for Hannah! xoxoxo

Our Mitten Mission for China....

It has been my mission to send supplies to Mara-Grace's orphanage each year around the time of her birthday in November, as a way letting them know that we still think of them, and appreciate all the care that they gave to her.
I have decided to begin a Mitten Mission for China. In reality, I would appreciate donations of any new handmade (knitted or crocheted) mittens, hats, booties .... that I would then in turn mail to the orphanage. This will be an ongoing project that I hope to continue for many years. Once Hannah is home, I will then divide what I have made/collected and send half to her orphanage around her birthday as well. Our Adoption Timeline

· In April 2008, Kevin and I attended a special celebration at our church called , "the Arc of the Covenant" where I prayed for a sign and a way to be able to begin this journey again. Kevin, who had been away from his seat, came back and told me that he just saw a ladybug...Ladybug sightings are a significant sign of good luck/adoption news in the adoption community.

· After months of hoping/praying/dreaming, we decided that we would be able to adopt again. Victoria was so excited and thankful to know that we would be proceeding. We decided to save our news to tell our families/friends on Mother's Day weekend (May 10th/11th)

· April 19th- I emailed Karen W. for info on the process.

· April 28th- Phoned adoption agency. They advised us to wait to bring in our registration for confirmation that the SN program would continue.

· May 10th- Announced our exciting news to our families!

· May 12th- attended an info night at our adoption agency.

· May 14th- Karen W. confirmed that SN program will continue and that we could proceed with registration.

· May 15th- Spoke with agency and made app. for registration.

· May 20th - Dropped registration off at Adoption agency!!!!

· May 22nd, phoned our Centre Jeunesse (Children's Aid) to request an adoption project.

· May 27th, received info package from Centre Jeunesse.

· May 30- Obtained police clearance

· February-complete medical exam. Most tests done. June 6- last two bloodtests completed

· June 9th- mailed Centre Jeunesse package in.

· June 11th picked up completed Medical report (Jen's) from Doctor

· June 12- Kevin's doctor's appointment!

-July 9th, Received file #, sponsor etc... from agency. Karen W. is our sponsor who guided us along our journey to Mara-Grace...

-August, September and October our homestudy was being written and completed

-November 14 we dropped our complete file off at our agency.

-January 4, 2009 Our file is logged in at the CCAA!!!!

-Monday August 10, 2009 We received "THE CALL" from Karen- our sponsor. Finally, news of our Hannah Faith!

-August 26th 2009, we received our Pre-Approval.

-September 16th 2009, "Letter Seeking Confirmation" (Approval!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

-Friday, November 11th, received TRAVEL APPROVAL!

-Monday, November 13th, received our travel plans. Itinerary the following day!

No....... no news.......................waiting.........................just waiting.........................

I do not update this blog nearly as much as I would like to. I suppose I am always hoping for some news to share!

No news yet.... I will keep you posted!

Hannah's room is currently basically empty except for the table I set up to do my scrapbooking! It is so incredibly handy to have everything set up and ready for any spare minute I have to devote. I will miss the convenience of that, but obviously will be MORE THAN happy to have a reason to put it away! The crib is propped up in there, but not assembled. The change table and rocking chair are there too. Along with a tv and stand which has a home outdoors in our gazebo during the summer months. Ok, the room is not empty, but it is empty of all that truly matters.

We have bought things for Hannah here and there, and they are awaiting her in there too! LOL I have finished buying for the caretakers (nannies) from the orphanage, and I have their gifts stored in the closet. Along with some gifts for the orphanage. Also, some candies for the local children we meet along our way. So, at this time, Hannah's room is being prepared for both our trip and her homecoming. Once we finally receive our referral (news of WHO Hannah is, and where etc...) we could travel within 2-3 months. We have decided to start decorating her nursery/room in May. I have it planned in my mind. We bought Hannah her own crib bedding set which is Lullaby Birds by Kidsline. For her room, I picture it mainly sunny yellow and white. Wood painted white on the bottom portion of the wall and yellow above. I can picture it and it will be easy to match when she is out of her crib etc... Anyway, looking forward to that. Here is a pic of Lullaby Birds. We have the crib set, extra fitted sheet, wall art, hamper, and the lamp. Now, if we could just have some news of our baby!!!!! xoxo

Wanda said...: Oh Jen - no words can adequately ease the pain of this wait. I am glad to hear you'll be focusing on Hanna's bedroom - very therapeutic.

And I just love the set you chose for her. It's beautiful (reminds me of some of the artwork Danielle (The Design Girl) uses. Really lovely. Hanna will LOVE it, for sure.
