Long story short, our citizenship Part 1 paperwork was due to arrive by today (8 weeks from receipt confirming the opening of the file). I have been rather paranoid about this all along. We were reassured that all would be ready on time to travel etc.... I just had a feeling.... Anyway, Kev phoned yesterday (ok, I was hounding 'a little') and we were hoping to be told that it was in the mail. However, instead of this, we were told that it is now taking 14 weeks instead of 8. When Kev explained the situation he was told that we should, "Just postpone it". NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! It doesn't work like that! It is really a good thing that I was not on the phone:))) He was calm and asked if there was a way to expedite the process. UMMMM NO! Our sponsor suggested we contact our MP. When we heard from our agency early this morning, they agreed with contacting our MP and they had another suggestion that with more money and paperwork and a different procedure, we'll still be able to travel as planned. PHEW! We were incredibly relieved to say the very least. Keeping our fingers crossed that all will work out well.
